N.B Marine Services @ The Paintshed, Anderton -The Story So Far...

N.B. Marine Services is run by myself, Nick Bancroft a narrowboat specialist with several years experience and a broad expertise. I started my career as a car mechanic, which gave me the engineering skills to apply to narrowboat engine servicing. I spent 4 years building my skills working for a busy hire fleet in Anderton, Cheshire, quickly progressing through the ranks to Senior Engineer.

Moving from Anderton, I joined the team at a major marine distribution company based in Nantwich, Cheshire as Assistant Manager. This role gave me a significant insight into the sourcing of quality parts and materials for narrowboats, a knowledge I have since been able to readily share with my customers.

In 2003 N.B. Marine Services was founded and was operational (and busy!!) from a standing start. I very quickly gained many great contacts in both private and trade sectors within the industry. Our biggest customer at this time was Orchard Marina where I was their sole engineer and coachpainter.

As my expertise grew so did my client base, and my reputation has taken me around the UK and Europe.
More recently I have found that my stringent attention to detail has enabled me to deliver exceptionally high quality work in all areas of narrowboat painting and servicing.

In January 2010, I took on ownership of the Paintshed at Uplands Marina, Anderton. The Paintshed already had a well established reputation in the industry, having been maintained by a fellow expert narrowboat painter Steve Gorton who has since retired. I was confident I possessed the skills and quality of workmanship to take on and develop the Paintshed, which I have built into a state of the art facility for narrowboat painting. It is also the ideal base to offer a full range of narrowboat servicing and engineering services through NB Marine Services. Through NB Marine Services and The Paintshed, Anderton, there is nothing that my team and I cannot do for your narrowboat, with the highest standards guaranteed with every job.
